“African” is not a race.

As the article expresses, there’s lots to think about when we use the word “African”. Check out Comfort’s words in the article. She refers to Africans as people from Africa – not a specific race. Still, many people think of skin colour when they think of “Africans”.

Obviously, a lot of countries in this world are a mixture of races, religions, ethnicities, political and religious views. Think about where you come from? Are Canadians a specific colour?  What African storytelling tells us is that the wisdom and strength of a people has nothing to do with the colour of their skin.
