Synopsis:

The Surrogate Mother illustrates the modern African's role as moderator between culture values and belief embodied in persistent relatives and redefined values. Leke and Lara, the main characters are a married couple unable to bear children. While Leke’s mother insists on her son marrying a new wife, modern medicine proves that this would have been a futile solution as the core of the childlessness laid with him. In an attempt to save Mama embarrassment, Leke and Lara attempt to choose the middle ground between in-vitro fertilization and pacifying Mama’s instincts and superstitions concerning childlessness.
